ACQI’s work underpinned by Nobel winning research

ACQI congratulates John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton, winners of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics. The Laureates were recognised for their work in using physics principles to develop some of the world’s first machine learning algorithms which underpin contemporary algorithms that are revolutionising the world of data analytics. Machine learning is enabling ACQI and other researchers to unlock the information that is hiding in medical images in order to improve our understanding of disease, and to develop tools to assist clinicians in their efforts to improve the quality of life of patients.
